This is an interesting blog about going beyond the textbook into the world of digital texts. I really enjoyed how grateful this teacher was to be in an environment with such thoughtful and creative coworkers who are able to collaborate on the idea of what future digital textbooks might look like in the classroom. This teacher is able to see the value of utilizing technology within the classroom to aid in student learning in the same way that I value technology in the classroom. The teacher also utilizes many other forms of technology and it is interesting to see how differently the many types of technology can be used in personal life and professional life.

Technology in Education
"Early Care Centers Recieve Computer Learning Systems"
Including technology in education is a vital part of today’s society and culture. The jobs that students will have in the future will most likely have something to do with technology (and likely haven’t been created yet because of how fast technology is moving!). Another reason why including technology in instruction is so important is because kids truly enjoy getting to use the different devices in the classroom. It is a fun way to enhance what is being taught and provide extra practice in a more exciting way that will engage students. Some students will have access to technology when they go home, but for others, using technology in the classroom might be the only time that they get to experience it. If they hope to be successful in the future, it is extremely important that they have access to be able to practice the skills needed to use technology.

Teaching Philosophy
I believe that every student is
entitled to the best possible education that they can receive. Every child is
different, so the best possible education will be different for each child as
well. It is the job of the teacher to ensure that every child is appropriately
challenged so that they can learn as much as possible while they are in school.
Teachers also need to ensure that students are provided with every possible
opportunity to learn. No matter what background a student has when they come
into the classroom, it is their teacher’s responsibility to make sure that
these learning opportunities are made possible for them.
Autobiographical Information
Hi, I'm Alyssa! I grew up in Oak Creek, Wisconsin (which is near Milwaukee). There, I attended Oak Creek High School and was very involved in the Marching Band Program. I played clarinet and was also a drum major for three years. I was also involved in Renaissance and National Honor Society. I'm now an Elementary Education major and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. I will be certified to teach anyone from birth to age twelve (that's about 6th grade). I am still involved in band, continuing to play my clarinet. I am also part of the concerts committee of Reeve Union Board. We plan some of the major musical groups that come to play on campus. When I’m not doing those things, I also enjoy reading, scrapbooking and spending time with my friends.
